"A community market is a wonderful thing and we want to create a community-based space where people can come together and sell their goods for a worthy cause." In 2016, the Rotary Club of North Hobart launched a weekly Sunday community market to create a welcoming space where local people could connect, support small stallholders and raise funds for community projects. Officially opened by Hobart Lord Mayor Sue Hickey, the market featured local crafts, food, books, plants and produce, while generating support for Rotary projects both locally and internationally. Source: Hobart Observer, 10 February 2016 Editor's note: The Rotary Club of North Hobart no longer operates this weekly Sunday market. This article has been retained as part of the club's historical record and reflects an important chapter in our community service journey.
